Örenäs Slott bröllop
Erkki and Saskia booked me at a wedding fair over a year before their wedding. A wonderful couple, from Sweden and Luxemburg, they managed to arrange their wedding with guests from all over the world all while balancing the demands of PhDs in Lund. We met a few times over the year for an engagement shoot as well as to plan their day and to visit the fabulous Örenäs Slott in Skåne. With such a fabulous venue, it made complete sense to have both the ceremony and the reception at the same place, but unfortunately the Swedish weather didn’t co-operate and with 24 hours to go, they had to decide to relocate the planned ceremony and drinks overlooking the sea to indoors.
Fortunately Örenäs Slott is about as impressive an interior as you’ll find for a wedding reception and we were able to get some great outdoor portraits done in breaks in the rain and we the wind allowed for some fun shots with Saskia’s stole, even if it did also take a few balloons away with it
All in all, some fabulous wedding with some highlights including Saskia’s brother making a saxophone recital by Skype, speeches translated between English, Swedis, French and German, and the fabulous Baumkuchen traditional wedding cake, carefully driven all the way from Luxemburg.
